The present work is focused on the study and characterisation of copper flat wire’s enamel coatings intended for their electrical insulation, performed at De Angeli Prodotti S.r.l. The study was carried out on the samples coming from the productions and includes mechanical, electrical, thermal tests and optical analysis of the samples via a digital optical microscope in order to evaluate the quality of the deposition of the enamel and to correlate the thickness of the deposited layers with the complessive properties gained by the insulated flat wire. A secondary study has been also carried out on the deposition process of the enamels by the idealisation of a model based on each enamel’s physical properties and on the geometry of the system, that may facilitate the production process.
