This thesis explores the relationship between cultural heritage and educational factors in shaping international students' satisfaction in mobility programs at the University of Padua and the University of Michigan. With the help of a literature review and survey analysis, it examines how destination-specific attributes influence students’ experiences. The study highlights the historical significance of educational tourism, with reference to the Grand Tour, and investigates factors such as cultural engagement, challenges faced, and academic satisfaction. Statistical analyses of survey data from 157 participants in Padua and 65 in Ann Arbor reveal that cultural engagement significantly enhances students' satisfaction in Padua. At the same time, the language barrier affects it negatively. In contrast, educational satisfaction plays a crucial role in Ann Arbor. Differences between the two places regarding cultural heritage, academics, and support systems are analyzed to provide actionable recommendations for improving students' satisfaction with mobility programs. The findings highlight the importance of adapting the academic system and cultural heritage to the needs of international students regarding mobility.
