This thesis examines the integration of Lean Manufacturing principles with Industry 4.0 technologies and their combined impact on organizational performance. The first chapter provides a brief overview of Lean manufacturing. The second chapter reviews literature on how Industry 4.0 innovations interact with Lean and explores their combined approach on operational performance. In the third chapter, a survey-based empirical analysis is conducted, exploring the effects of Lean and Industry 4.0 on a list of Italian manufacturing companies.
