Ridley Scott e il war cinema: la luce naturale dal fotochimico al digitale.

This thesis analyzes Ridley Scott's stylistic and photographic evolution from 1977 to 2023, with a focus on his historical-heroic works, such as Gladiator (2000), Kingdom of Heaven (2005) and Robin Hood (2010). Taking the famous director as a case in point, one goes to document the transformation over time of the acquisition mode going from photochemical to digital. This traces a transformation in the way light is handled on the set increasingly interested in reproducing a natural effect, a key element for Ridley Scott's historical war-cinema.

La tesi analizza l’evoluzione stilistica e fotografica di Ridley Scott dal 1977 al 2023, con particolare attenzione alle sue opere storico-eroiche, come Gladiatore (2000), Le Crociate (2005) e Robin Hood (2010). Prendendo come caso il famoso regista si va a documentare la trasformazione nel tempo del modo ti acquisizione passando da fotochimico a digitale. Questo traccia una trasformazione nel modo di gestire la luce sul set sempre più interessata a riprodurre un effetto naturale, elemento chiave per il war-cinema storico di Ridley Scott.
