With this thesis I wish to formulate a research into how the Arts, with their respective types of production and use, can become a modality and a vehicle for acquiring well-being for the person. This well-being must be understood in the acceptance that the World Health Organization has provided to the world population through the prologue to its constitution: “Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not simply the absence of disease or infirmity". A well-being that is evident beyond the physical exterior, but which also includes mental and social health. Being healthy and staying healthy may require taking action to achieve it, especially in those people who suffer from its lack due to impediments that may be physical, mental or social, or a combination of these. Through the Arts and using their respective methods of production and enjoyment, people can find support and assistance in their search for well-being. The arts that will be specifically treated will be visual arts (art therapy), music (music therapy), dance (dance therapy), theater (psychodrama) and writing (autobiography). In this thesis the glue between well-being and the Arts will be provided by the research of the Psychology of Art, i.e. a discipline that investigates and explains the psychological processes that underlie the experiences of production and use of works of art. The psychology of art has an interdisciplinary character and its reference sectors are multiple. To list a few: from aesthetics to history, theory and criticism of art, literature, medicine, psychiatry, anthropology, sociology, pedagogy, as well as some of the directions of psychology themselves, such as Gestalt, cognitive theories, psychoanalysis. The objective is to welcome and specify the mental processes involved in the production, enjoyment, search for meaning and value found in the Arts. Ultimately, in understanding the autopoietic process of creating personal well-being that develops with and through the use of one's personal creativity.

Abstract
Ultimately, in understanding the autopoietic process of creating personal well-being that develops with and through the use of one's personal creativity.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
