This study explores some of the socio-psychological correlates of studying away from home at the University of Padua. Through a questionnaire administered to a sample of "out-of-town" students, the evaluations of the university, level of satisfaction, adaptation, and nostalgia were analyzed. The results highlight a positive assessment of the university by the students, supported by a strong sense of social support, which translates into increased overall satisfaction, one of the indicators of academic success. Furthermore, it is observed that students show reduced nostalgia, suggesting an effective adaptation process to the new environment. These findings provide important insights into the emotional and social dynamics related to the experience of studying away from home.
