This thesis addresses the study of a three-dimensional physical model conducted at the Maritime Construction Laboratory of the University of Padua, focusing on the North Breakwater of the port of Livorno. The objective of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of the North Breakwater of the port of Livorno, with particular attention to the expansion project of the port infrastructure. The core of the work is represented by the scale model study, carried out to verify the hydraulic stability of the structure, made of ACCROPODE™ artificial units and natural rocks, as well as the overtopping discharge over the breakwater. After a description of the real structure and its territorial context, the thesis focuses on the construction of the three-dimensional model and the experimental tests conducted in the wave basin.

Abstract
This thesis addresses the study of a three-dimensional physical model conducted at the Maritime Construction Laboratory of the University of Padua, focusing on the North Breakwater of the port of Livorno. The objective of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of the North Breakwater of the port of Livorno, with particular attention to the expansion project of the port infrastructure. The core of the work is represented by the scale model study, carried out to verify the hydraulic stability of the structure, made of ACCROPODE™ artificial units and natural rocks, as well as the overtopping discharge over the breakwater. After a description of the real structure and its territorial context, the thesis focuses on the construction of the three-dimensional model and the experimental tests conducted in the wave basin.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
