La libertà nella regola: nuove possibilità di espressione nella poesia cinese in stile moderno

The aim of this thesis is an analysis of recent-style Chinese poetry, from V AD to its development in the Tang period, VII-IX AD. The analysis wants to show how the rigid and complex structure that characterizes this kind of poetry can actually be used to expand the freedom of thought and imagination. It will be shown how the rules of this recent-style poetry are not to be considered as an exercise of poetic virtuosity, or that they imply a limitation of the representable contents, on the contrary, the obligations that this type of metric form imposes on the poet can actually be transformed into a construction of freedom. The regulated form paradoxically becomes a means to free thought; the artistic gesture can be understood beyond its complexity and the context in which it is placed.

L’obbiettivo di questa tesi è un’analisi della poesia cinese in stile moderno, in particolare verrà preso in esame il periodo che va dalla sua nascita, V d.C., fino al suo sviluppo in epoca Tang, VII-IX d.C. L’analisi sarà volta a mostrare come la struttura che caratterizza questo genere di poesia, estremamente rigida e complessa, in realtà possa essere utilizzata per espandere la libertà di pensiero e d’immaginazione. Verrà mostrato come le regole di questo stile non siano da considerarsi come un esercizio di virtuosismo poetico fine a sé stesso, o che comportino una limitazione dei contenuti rappresentabili, al contrario, gli obblighi che questa tipologia di forme metriche impone al poeta si possano in realtà trasformare in una costruzione di libertà. La forma regolata diventa paradossalmente un mezzo per liberare il pensiero e il gesto artistico può essere inteso oltre la sua complessità e il contesto in cui viene collocato.
