In this thesis, we investigate a stochastic SISV (Susceptible - Infectious - Susceptible - Vaccinated) epidemic model with vertical transmission. Births and deaths are allowed among the population, the infection can be transmitted to the offspring and vaccines are considered to be perfect. Two types of vaccine are considered: prophylactic and therapeutic. Through some numerical works, we study and compare the effectiveness of both vaccination strategies using the exact reproduction number, which counts the exact number of secondary infections caused by a typical infectious individual during its entire infectious period.

Abstract
In this thesis, we investigate a stochastic SISV (Susceptible - Infectious - Susceptible - Vaccinated) epidemic model with vertical transmission. Births and deaths are allowed among the population, the infection can be transmitted to the offspring and vaccines are considered to be perfect. Two types of vaccine are considered: prophylactic and therapeutic. Through some numerical works, we study and compare the effectiveness of both vaccination strategies using the exact reproduction number, which counts the exact number of secondary infections caused by a typical infectious individual during its entire infectious period.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
