The aim of the study is to gain a better understanding of the behavior trends for the Piave and Tagliamento rivers located in northeast Italy. Data collection will be carried out via field surveys which will include the use of drones to obtain LiDAR aerial imagery which will then be uploaded to GIS software to visualize the data and generate maps portraying varying types of information. The generated maps can be used to determine sediment transport throughout the river channel, vegetation type and cover, large wood recruitment, and general interactions between the river and the surrounding environment. Current, past, and future generated maps can be compared to determine long-term and short-term effects that are a result of the many complex processes and interactions that occur within the river basin.

Abstract
The aim of the study is to gain a better understanding of the behavior trends for the Piave and Tagliamento rivers located in northeast Italy. Data collection will be carried out via field surveys which will include the use of drones to obtain LiDAR aerial imagery which will then be uploaded to GIS software to visualize the data and generate maps portraying varying types of information. The generated maps can be used to determine sediment transport throughout the river channel, vegetation type and cover, large wood recruitment, and general interactions between the river and the surrounding environment. Current, past, and future generated maps can be compared to determine long-term and short-term effects that are a result of the many complex processes and interactions that occur within the river basin.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
