The research investigates the strategic utility of Communities of Interest (CoIs) in enhancing the effectiveness and credibility of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) involved in European projects. By examining stakeholder engagement, European funding mechanisms, and the operational context of NGOs, the study explores how CoIs can serve as valuable tools to expand networks, share expertise, and bolster reputation without compromising organisational values. Drawing on interviews with practitioners from NGOs and project management experts, the research highlights how CoIs align with the European Commission's objectives, particularly in terms of broadening project impact, enhancing dissemination, and fostering cross-border collaboration. The analysis reveals that CoIs offer a platform for knowledge exchange, helping NGOs not only securing funding but also building lasting partnerships and contribute meaningfully to European policy initiatives. Additionally, the study addresses concerns regarding the potential depoliticisation of NGO values in grant-seeking processes, suggesting that CoIs, when properly managed, allow NGOs to maintain their integrity while advancing strategic goals. Ultimately, this research underscores the importance of CoIs as a strategic asset in the competitive landscape of European project funding.

Abstract
Ultimately, this research underscores the importance of CoIs as a strategic asset in the competitive landscape of European project funding.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
