This thesis examines the challenges suppliers face in implementing sustainable practices in the context of an Event Sustainability Management System (ESMS) at the University of Padova, focusing on compliance with ISO 20121 and Criteri Ambientali Minimi (CAM). Through interviews with logistics, cleaning, catering, and audio/video service providers, the study identifies key barriers such as limited sustainability knowledge, financial constraints, and operational challenges. Triangulating interview data with tender documents and sustainability policies, the research reveals a need for better support and collaboration between the University and suppliers. The findings provide insights and recommendations for enhancing sustainable event management practices and promoting environmental and social responsibility in the event sector.
