This project aims to evaluate the efficiency of the twist control test, a new test system that aims to obtain the stress-strain curves of a metallic material by twisting a hexagonal specimen. The evaluation is carried out by comparing various stages of the two tests, starting with preliminary analyses on the different specimens and ending with an examination of the results of the two tests. Of the new test method, the advantages and critical issues will be highlighted, hypothesizing possible reasons why the results of the two tests may differ, and proposing some modifications with the aim of improving the accuracy and efficiency of the test.

Abstract

This project aims to evaluate the efficiency of the twist control test, a new test system that aims to obtain the stress-strain curves of a metallic material by twisting a hexagonal specimen. The evaluation is carried out by comparing various stages of the two tests, starting with preliminary analyses on the different specimens and ending with an examination of the results of the two tests. Of the new test method, the advantages and critical issues will be highlighted, hypothesizing possible reasons why the results of the two tests may differ, and proposing some modifications with the aim of improving the accuracy and efficiency of the test.
