All or nothing. La rappresentazione del potere nel cinema criminale hollywoodiano

If in every film narration the characters who inhabits the audiovisual story try to reach some clear goals, in crime and gangsteristic genre the achievement of these goals is done with the exercise of power. In this research we'll examine how the theme of power is developed in the narration field, first making a series of observations on the origins of the genre and on its evolution during the years. Then, we'll analise some films, from 1967 and 1997, which create an "All or nothing" model, a model in which the different characters who inhabit the audiovisual story follow their goals by sinning of hybris and trying to overcame a clear limit given by law or nature like they have no other choice.

Se in ogni narrazione filmica i personaggi che costellano il racconto audiovisivo tentano di raggiungere dei chiari obiettivi, nel genere criminale e gangsteristico il raggiungimento di tali scopi viene eseguito tramite l'esercitazione di un potere. In questa ricerca si valuterà come il tema del potere viene sviluppato in ambito narrativo, prima facendo una serie di appunti sulle origini del genere e sulla sua evoluzione nei decenni a seguire. In seguito, si analizzerà una serie di film, compresi tra il 1967 e il 1997, che contribuiscono alla creazione di un modello "All or nothing", un modello in cui i vari personaggi che abitano il racconto audiovisivo perseguono i propri obiettivi peccando di hybris e cercando di superare un limite imposto dalla legge o dalla natura come se non avessero alternative.
