Apocalípticas e integradas: la "bruja latinoamericana" en la narrativa de la globalización (2000-2024)

The objective of this thesis is to analyze the different types of representation of the "witch" in the contemporary latin-american literary scene. This analysis will intercept two different modes of reppresentation of this character. The first one portrays a witch that is an active agent of disturbance in the peripheral dynamics of late-stage capitalism thanks to a conscious ractivation of the intrinsic potential of the "monstruous feminine" and thanks to cooperative alliances with other beings. The other representative modality that will be intercepted, on the contrary, depicts the "local" witch as being a poorly integrated subject in contemporary reality, exposed to the risk of assimilation in the dynamics of the Capital as the identitary residue of a lost culltural heritage. The thesis will, therefore, begin with a historical overview that aims to analyze the construction of this figure and her fixation in the collective imaginary - based on political discourses of patriarchal and colonial power - that will allow a closer, deeper examination of the different forms of counterhegemonic discourses that this character is able to re-enact in contemporary latin american literature.

La tesi tratterà le varie declinazioni della figura della strega dentro al panorama letterario ispanoamericano contemporaneo. Quest'analisi intercetterà due diverse modalità rappresentative di questa figura. La prima vede questo personaggio come agente di disturbo nelle dinamiche della contemporaneità, irriverentemente schierata contro le modalità violente del capitalismo neoimperialista nella periferia globale grazie, anche, ad una conscia riattivazione del potenziale iscritto nella "mostruosità femminile" e attraverso alleanze solidali con creature "altre". L'altra modalità rappresentativa individuata, invece, vede la figura della strega locale come soggetto mal integrato nella realtà contemporanea, esposta all'assimilazione del capitale in quanto residuo identitario di un'eredità culturale perduta. Partendo, quindi, da una panoramica sulla costruzione di questa figura dentro all'immaginario collettivo - formato sulla base dei strumentali discorsi del potere patriarcale e coloniale -, si vedranno le diverse forme che prenderà nella narrativa contemporanea, che permettono la formulazione di inedite critiche controegemoniche.
