Literary translation represents a fundamental bridge between different cultures, enabling the dissemination of ideas, lifestyles and worldviews. In this context, the novel ‘Timira’ by the Wu Ming collective presents itself as a work rich in thematic and linguistic cues, which deserves in-depth analysis not only for its content, but also for the challenges involved in translation. Published for the first time in Italy, ‘Timira’ addresses issues of identity, migration and resistance, highly topical elements that also resonate strongly in the contemporary Russian landscape. The decision to translate this text from Italian into Russian is therefore not just a linguistic act, but a cultural intervention aimed at bringing out the interconnections between Italian and Russian experiences, as well as stimulating a debate on universal themes. In this thesis, the various aspects of the translation of ‘Timira’ will be analysed, paying particular attention to the linguistic and cultural difficulties that emerge during the translation process. Through a comparison between the original text and its translation, an attempt will be made to highlight not only the translation choices made, but also how these affect the reception of the original message in the Russian context. The final objective is to demonstrate how translation is not a mere transfer of words, but a true act of cultural creation, capable of enriching both languages involved. In conclusion, this thesis aims not only to contribute to the understanding of the translation of ‘Timira’, but also to the deepening of intercultural dialogue between Italy and Russia, highlighting the importance of literature as a tool for mutual understanding and dialogue between peoples.
