This paper will examine the theory of Active Learning, a set of teaching strategies that actively involve students in the learning process. Initially, we will focus on the origins of this theory and then explore its more recent developments. Next, the elements necessary to promote and design active learning will be analysed, through the explanation and definition of the most relevant methodologies and techniques in this context. Finally, the benefits of active learning, both for students and teachers, will be illustrated, along with the challenges and obstacles that may arise, and good practices and recommendations for overcoming them will be proposed. The aim is to highlight the importance of Active Learning, particularly in secondary school teaching, and to provide guidelines for effective design.

Abstract
This paper will examine the theory of Active Learning, a set of teaching strategies that actively involve students in the learning process. Initially, we will focus on the origins of this theory and then explore its more recent developments. Next, the elements necessary to promote and design active learning will be analysed, through the explanation and definition of the most relevant methodologies and techniques in this context. Finally, the benefits of active learning, both for students and teachers, will be illustrated, along with the challenges and obstacles that may arise, and good practices and recommendations for overcoming them will be proposed. The aim is to highlight the importance of Active Learning, particularly in secondary school teaching, and to provide guidelines for effective design.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
