This experimental thesis is based on a personal volunteering experience lasted three weeks, from the 17th of July to the 7th of August 2024, at Care & Share Charitable Trust in Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh, India). Care & Share is an Indian NGO engaging in child protection activities, such as the reception of abandoned, orphan and disabled children; and in aid activities for children living below the poverty line in the slums of Vijayawada. The NGO receives economic support from Mummy & Daddy ODV based in Italy. The ultimate aim of this thesis is to point out how the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act enacted by the Indian Government has been influencing and impeding the work of thousands of Indian NGOs, among which there are NGO-run child care institutions, such as Care & Share Charitable Trust.
