I BENI CULTURALI COME MEDIATORI DI PARTECIPAZIONE ED ACCESSIBILITA'. UNA ESPERIENZA DI EDUCAZIONE INCLUSIVA AL PATRIMONIO DI VENEZIA

In the field of cultural heritage, strategies to allow accessibility to all types of public have meaning for a long time physical access to the structures that host them, considering especially motor difficulties and sensory problems (especially sight and hearing). Today the reflection has broadened and attention has also focused on overcoming barriers cognitive and cultural. In this paper we started from an excursus on the evolution of the concept of disability and analyzed the legislative and cultural path that led to the current definition of "person with disability”, a definition that opens the way to important implications regarding responsibilities of society to guarantee equal opportunities for all citizens. Attention was therefore focused on the concept of accessibility in the field of cultural heritage and, in specific, on the tools and methodologies that promote its use to all types of public. Among these, the adoption of the Easy to Read language for the production of texts stands out accompany visitors with special educational needs to discover a place of culture. The final part of the thesis contains the chronicle of the organizational and methodological phases of one experience of extended and inclusive participation in the cultural heritage of Venice, the church and the archive historian of the Madonna dell'Orto

Nell’ambito dei beni culturali le strategie per consentire l’accessibilità a tutti i tipi di pubblico ha significato per molto tempo l’accesso fisico alle strutture che li ospitano, considerando specialmente le difficoltà motorie e le problematiche sensoriali (soprattutto vista e udito). Oggi la riflessione si è ampliata e l’attenzione si è concentrata anche sul superamento delle barriere cognitive e culturali. In questo elaborato si è partiti da un excursus sull’evoluzione del concetto di disabilità e si è analizzato il percorso legislativo e culturale che ha portato alla odierna definizione di “persona con disabilità”, definizione che apre la strada ad implicazioni importanti in ordine alle responsabilità della società di garantire pari opportunità a tutti i cittadini. Si è quindi focalizzata l’attenzione sul concetto di accessibilità nell’ambito dei beni culturali e, nello specifico, sugli strumenti e sulle metodologie che ne promuovono la fruizione a tutti i tipi di pubblico. Tra queste spicca l’adozione del linguaggio Easy to Read per la produzione dei testi per accompagnare il visitatore con bisogni educativi speciali alla scoperta di un luogo della cultura. La parte conclusiva dell’elaborato contiene la cronaca delle fasi organizzative e metodologiche di una esperienza di partecipazione estesa ed inclusiva al Patrimonio culturale di Venezia, la chiesa e l’archivio storico della Madonna dell’Orto
