In this thesis is introduced the topic of Thermal Comfort inside Electric Vehicles, integrated with a briefly overview of PTC, HVAC system. The efficiency problems and all the rules related to thermal stress of human beings are studied, in particular in cold enviroments. The goal is to optimize the energy needed to reach a comfort situation inside our vehicle and it is accomplished via etched foil heaters and a specific designed control system. Inside a controlled enviroment, precisely, a climate chamber, many experimental tests have been carried out to characterize: time, energy consumption and efficacy in every condition. Using all the data acquired, a machine learning model has been implemented in order to virtualize some of the sensors used during operations that, normally, are not integrated inside cars. Finally are presented the conclusions and the related improvements that could be done in the future.
In questa tesi viene introdotto l'argomento del Comfort Termico all'interno dei Veicoli Elettrici, integrato con una breve panoramica dei sistemi PTC, HVAC. Vengono studiati i problemi di efficienza e tutte le regole relative allo stress termico degli esseri umani, in particolare negli ambienti freddi. L'obiettivo è ottimizzare l'energia necessaria per raggiungere una situazione di comfort all'interno del nostro veicolo e si ottiene tramite riscaldatori a lamina incisa e un Sistema di Controllo progettato in modo specifico. All'interno di un ambiente controllato, precisamente, una camera climatica, sono stati effettuati molti test sperimentali per caratterizzare: tempo, consumo di energia ed efficacia in ogni condizione. Utilizzando tutti i dati acquisiti, è stato implementato un modello di Machine Learning per virtualizzare alcuni dei sensori utilizzati durante le operazioni che, normalmente, non sono integrati all'interno delle auto. Infine vengono presentate le conclusioni e i relativi miglioramenti che potrebbero essere fatti in futuro.
