Children with visual impairments face significant challenges in developing spatial awareness and cognitive skills, which are essential for understanding their surroundings and engaging in daily activities. This thesis discusses the development and evaluation of a "Shape-Matching" game that assists the development of spatial and cognitive skills in an indirect and engaging manner among children with visual impairment. A shape-matching game has been designed within a Processing environment to further spatial abilities in children with visual impairments. Utilizing movement tracking technologies, the game allows full-body interaction in an area of room size, which increases engagement and visuo-spatial coordination accordingly. Through the Processing Development Environment, a game is made to present half-shapes of basic geometric figures displayed in random positions in the play area. The game was design with the aim of accessible and inclusive for children with visual impairment and created an inclusive atmosphere, while the spatial awareness and cognitive skills are improved.

Abstract
The game was design with the aim of accessible and inclusive for children with visual impairment and created an inclusive atmosphere, while the spatial awareness and cognitive skills are improved.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
