This thesis examines Food Waste policies in Italy, with a particular focus on Law 166/2016 (commonly known as “Gadda Law”), which regulates the recovery and redistribution of surplus food with the aim of reducing waste and promoting social solidarity. To assess the implementation and effectiveness of the legislation, data on organic waste, donations, and corporate perceptions from Coop Alleanza 3.0 and Aspiag Service Srl (Despar Nord), two of the most prominent supermarket chains operating in Northern Italy, were analyzed.
La presente tesi analizza le politiche contro il Food Waste in Italia, esaminando in particolare la Legge 166/2016 (nota come “Legge Gadda”), la quale disciplina il recupero e la redistribuzione delle eccedenze alimentari con l’obiettivo di ridurre gli sprechi e favorire la solidarietà sociale. Per valutare l'implementazione e l'efficacia della normativa sono stati esaminati i dati relativi a rifiuti organici, donazioni e le percezioni aziendali di Coop Alleanza 3.0 e Aspiag Service Srl (Despar Nord), due delle più importanti catene di supermercati operanti nel Nord Italia.
