How a CAMO works and maintains engines airworthy

A CAMO, or Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization, has a key role in ensuring that an aircraft is always flying safely and in an airworthy state, which is achieved by an on-time planning of the required maintenance tasks and by solving engineering issues that may arise during operations. With the writing of this thesis I wanted to educate the reader on the role of CAMOs inside the maintenance process that an aircraft has to obey, with a focus on the work performed by the Engineering Power Plant (EPP) Department with the explanation of the procedures that have to be followed both from a documental and a practical point of view, ranging from the issuing of a maintenance program based on the aircraft manufacturer planning documents, to the review of borescope inspections conducted on the engines. This assignment was realized with my working experience in the Engineering Department of Aliplan s.r.l. and the fundamental support from all my coworkers.
