Due to its characteristics of transparency and reflection, and its fluid and ever-changing form, water, as an immersive element, presents unique features that not only engage the senses but integrate them, creating a truly synesthetic experience. This experience finds an interesting parallel with cinematic and virtual immersivity, where the user is enveloped in a multisensory environment that transcends mere visual and auditory consumption, reaching deeper psychological levels. This thesis aims to demonstrate the existence of a synesthetic connection between water and cinematic immersivity, particularly in virtual reality experiences, also drawing on examples of immersive experiences lived firsthand during the 81st Venice International Film Festival.

Abstract
Due to its characteristics of transparency and reflection, and its fluid and ever-changing form, water, as an immersive element, presents unique features that not only engage the senses but integrate them, creating a truly synesthetic experience. This experience finds an interesting parallel with cinematic and virtual immersivity, where the user is enveloped in a multisensory environment that transcends mere visual and auditory consumption, reaching deeper psychological levels. This thesis aims to demonstrate the existence of a synesthetic connection between water and cinematic immersivity, particularly in virtual reality experiences, also drawing on examples of immersive experiences lived firsthand during the 81st Venice International Film Festival.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
