This thesis aims to examine the role of female artists in Renaissance society, with particular attention to the domestic and professional environments in which they operated. Specifically, the analysis focuses on the female painters described by Giorgio Vasari in his Vite, with a specific emphasis on those active in Veneto during the 16th and 17th centuries. The main objective of the research is the rediscovery of the Veronese painter Cecilia Brusasorci, through the examination of historical sources. The study analyzes her work within the workshop of her father Domenico and later within that of her brother Felice Brusasorci, with the goal of offering a deeper understanding of her artistic legacy and the role of women in the Renaissance context.
