This thesis aims to evaluate the shear stiffness of Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) panels featuring gaps between lamellas. Experimental tests were carried out at the KIT Institute in Karlsruhe. The obtained results were analyzed using various theoretical formulations available in the literature and compared with finite element models, in order to assess the influence of gaps on the overall stiffness of the panels.
Il presente lavoro di tesi ha l’obiettivo di determinare la rigidezza a taglio di pannelli in Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) caratterizzati dalla presenza di gap tra le lamelle. A tal fine, sono state condotte prove sperimentali presso l’istituto KIT di Karlsruhe. I risultati ottenuti sono stati analizzati mediante diverse formulazioni teoriche disponibili in letteratura e confrontati con modelli numerici agli elementi finiti, al fine di valutare l’influenza dei vuoti sulla rigidezza complessiva dei pannelli.
