This thesis presents the reasons for the Industrial Revolution, as Britain began to industrialize centuries before most other countries. By the time of the 18th century, Britain was significantly different from other states in the union in a combination of social, political, economic, and geographical factors that formed ideal conditions for industrialization. The emphasis of the paper was on Britain's vast resources of coal and iron, Britain's colonial empire, and an advanced banking and financial system. It also analyzes the impact of agricultural improvements, technological innovations such as the steam engine, and a relatively stable political system that encouraged private investment and entrepreneurship. The thesis concludes that it was this convergence of factors, rather than a single cause, that allowed Britain to lead the world into the modern industrial age.

Abstract
The thesis concludes that it was this convergence of factors, rather than a single cause, that allowed Britain to lead the world into the modern industrial age.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
