This thesis explores the human side of purpose in Benefit Corporations, examining how declared values are translated into tangible value for people within the organization. Through a quantitative analysis of a sample of medium and large enterprises with at least one public benefit purpose related to Human Capital, followed by a qualitative review of impact reports, the study investigates the relationship between governance structures and attention to human capital. In particular, it seeks to understand whether and how human resource management approaches and processes change in the context of a Benefit Corporation, adopting a configuration more aligned with the organization’s social purpose. The goal is to assess the consistency between statutory purposes, organizational practices, and actual impact on people.
