In a constantly evolving healthcare context, characterized by organizational complexity and limited resources, soft skills represent essential competencies for Healthcare Professions Managers. Among these, problem solving emerges as a strategic skill for addressing daily decision-making challenges. Objectives: The aim of this study is to analyze problem solving as a transversal competence among Healthcare Professions Managers, exploring its association with sports activity, work experience, and the healthcare organization of employment. Materials and Methods: The Problem Solving Style Questionnaire (PSSQ), a validated self-assessment tool widely used internationally, was employed for data collection. The questionnaire was translated into Italian for the purpose of this study and distributed online anonymously to a sample of Healthcare Professions Managers. In addition to the 20 standard PSSQ items, questions regarding workplace context and sports practice were included. Data were collected using Google Forms and processed with Excel. The study was approved by the ethics committee. Results: Statistical analysis will allow the identification of prevalent problem-solving styles (sensing, intuition, feeling, thinking) and any correlations with professional roles and sports practice. Conclusions: The study aims to contribute to the recognition of problem solving as a key competence in healthcare leadership, offering insights for continuous education and professional development of managerial staff.
In un contesto sanitario in continua evoluzione, caratterizzato da complessità organizzativa e scarsità di risorse, le soft skills rappresentano competenze essenziali per i Dirigenti delle Professioni Sanitarie. Tra queste, il problem solving emerge come una skill strategica per affrontare le sfide decisionali quotidiane. Obiettivi: Lo studio si propone di analizzare il problem solving come competenza trasversale dei Dirigenti delle Professioni Sanitarie, esplorando l’associazione tra tale competenza, l’attività sportiva, le esperienze lavorative e l'Azienda lavorativa di appartenenza Materiali e Metodi: È stato utilizzato il Problem Solving Style Questionnaire (PSSQ), uno strumento auto-somministrato validato a livello internazionale, tradotto in italiano per il presente studio. Il questionario è stato distribuito online in forma anonima ad un campione di Dirigenti delle Professioni Sanitarie. Oltre alle 20 domande standard del PSSQ, sono state aggiunte domande relative al contesto lavorativo e alla pratica sportiva. I dati sono stati raccolti tramite Google Moduli ed elaborati su Excel. Lo studio è stato approvato dal comitato etico. Risultati: l’analisi statistica permetterà di identificare stili prevalenti di problem solving (sensibilità, intuizione, sentimento, pensiero) e le eventuali correlazioni con il ruolo professionale e la pratica sportiva. Conclusioni: Lo studio intende contribuire alla valorizzazione del problem solving come competenza chiave nella leadership sanitaria, suggerendo piste per la formazione continua e lo sviluppo professionale dei dirigenti.
