The thesis analyzes the strategic role of physical activity as a fundamental component of corporate welfare, highlighting how its promotion in the workplace is crucial to improve the psychophysical well-being of employees and, consequently, the productivity and competitiveness of companies. The work is divided into five chapters, systematically addressing the definition, evolution, benefits, promotion models and implementation strategies of physical activity in the corporate environment, with particular attention to the differences related to the socioeconomic status and size of companies. The first chapter introduces the concept of corporate welfare, retracing its history from its paternalistic origins (with examples such as the Olivetti model) to modern policies integrated with corporate social responsibility. Inequalities in access to welfare services are also analyzed, with particular reference to the differences between workers with different socioeconomic status, suggesting strategies to fill these gaps. The second chapter delves into the benefits of physical activity for workers, distinguishing between physical and psychological benefits, analyzing the specific problems of two representative categories: video terminal operators and operational workers. A particular focus is dedicated to pre-retirement prevention, underlining the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle even in the final stages of a working career, especially among the most vulnerable subjects. The third chapter presents the main corporate models for promoting physical activity: structured fitness programs, group initiatives and team building, incentives and rewards for employees and collaborations between CRAL, gyms and sports centers. The fourth chapter focuses on implementation strategies, underlining the importance of internal communication, awareness raising and transversal involvement. The fifth chapter offers a review of concrete case studies, demonstrating the effectiveness of the analyzed strategies in integrating physical activity into corporate welfare and in generating tangible benefits for workers' health and productivity. In conclusion, the thesis demonstrates that the promotion of physical activity represents a strategic lever for corporate welfare, with positive impacts on both individual well-being and corporate productivity, ensuring equal access to the benefits of physical activity for all categories of workers.
