This work focuses on the usefulness of dubbed audiovisual material in language teaching, a topic that has been little explored so far, at least in relation to the teaching of German. Dubbed material proves to be, if carefully selected, just as valuable an instrument as authentic material. After a brief overview of audiovisual translation and the use of dubbing in German-speaking countries, various types of dubbed audiovisual products in German are analyzed, ranging from TV series to films, from documentaries to animated films. The work emphasizes their validity both from a linguistic perspective and in terms of cultural comparison, and underlines their effectiveness for acquiring the German language at all levels of proficiency and for all types of learners, from children to adult students. The discussion on the use of material dubbed into German also addresses the importance of prior knowledge in film and television products and the role of surprise in a teaching approach that is also meant to entertain. The work concludes with a practical section, which includes applied exercises related to various audiovisual products that are adapted for teaching by the teacher, following specific frameworks and reference models.
L’elaborato si focalizza sull’utilità del materiale audiovisivo doppiato in glottodidattica, un argomento finora poco indagato, almeno per quanto riguarda l’insegnamento del tedesco. Tale materiale si rivela, se accuratamente selezionato, uno strumento altrettanto proficuo di quello in lingua originale. Dopo un excursus sulla traduzione audiovisiva e l’impiego del doppiaggio nei Paesi germanofoni, vengono analizzati diversi tipi di prodotti audiovisivi doppiati in tedesco, dalle serie televisive, ai film, dai documentari ai film di animazione, sottolineandone la validità sia dal punto di vista linguistico sia del confronto culturale nonché l’efficacia per l’acquisizione della lingua tedesca a tutti i livelli di competenza e per ogni tipo di apprendente, dal bambino al discente adulto. La riflessione sull’impiego di materiale doppiato in tedesco si sofferma anche sull’importanza delle conoscenze previe in ambito cinematografico/televisivo e sul ruolo del fattore sorpresa in una didattica che è anche intrattenimento. Il lavoro si conclude con una parte pratica, ovvero con esercizi applicativi inerenti vari prodotti audiovisivi che vengono didattizzati dal docente seguendo alcuni schemi e modelli di riferimento.
