La rappresentazione dell'Altro nella Gerusalemme conquistata

This thesis analyzes the ways in which the Other is represented in Torquato Tasso's Conquered Jerusalem. The first chapter deals with the use of historical sources and their influence in the construction of the image of the enemy. In the second chapter the goal is the same but the focus is on literary sources. The third section of the thesis finds space for passages from the work involving the pagan world and the Arabs and an analysis of them.

La tesi analizza le modalità di rappresentazione dell'Altro, in particolar modo degli Arabi, nella Gerusalemme conquistata di Torquato Tasso. Il primo capitolo tratta dell'uso delle fonti storiche e della loro influenza nella costruzione dell'immagine del nemico. Nel secondo capitolo l'obbiettivo è il medesimo ma l'attenzione è rivolta alle fonti letterarie. Nella terza sezione del lavoro trovano spazio dei passi dell'opera che coinvolgono il mondo pagano e una loro analisi.
