This thesis presents an energy performance analysis and HVAC systems sizing of selected pavilions at the Sant’Orsola-Malpighi Polyclinic in Bologna, Italy. Developed in collaboration with SEINGIM Global Service S.r.l., the project involves detailed building modeling, simulation, and technical assessment using DesignBuilder and EnergyPlus software. The study identifies critical energy inefficiencies related to outdated mechanical systems, building envelope performance, and operational practices. Proposed strategies include envelope enhancements, HVAC optimization, plant reconfiguration, and the potential integration of renewable and district energy sources, aiming to reduce primary energy consumption, operational costs, and greenhouse gas emissions. The outcomes provide a robust technical framework supporting long-term energy planning and sustainability objectives in complex healthcare environments.

Abstract
The outcomes provide a robust technical framework supporting long-term energy planning and sustainability objectives in complex healthcare environments.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
