This paper deals with the pre-dimensioning of an Earth observation satellite designed to operate in Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO), with an expected operational life of at least two years. The mission is structured around two main objectives. The first one is the acquisition of high-resolution optical images of the Earth's surface, exploiting the potential offered by VLEO orbit in terms of improving spatial resolution and reducing atmospheric distortions. The second one falls within the scope of Space Situational Awareness (SSA): using the same telescope for Earth observation, the satellite can detect and monitor satellites and space debris in the orbital environment. The thesis includes the analysis of mission requirements, the preliminary dimensioning of the main subsystems (attitude control, power system and communication), the study of the orbital environment and the impact of the aerodynamic effects associated with the orbit under consideration.

Abstract
The thesis includes the analysis of mission requirements, the preliminary dimensioning of the main subsystems (attitude control, power system and communication), the study of the orbital environment and the impact of the aerodynamic effects associated with the orbit under consideration.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
