Sustainability and Traceability in the Luxury Industry: The Case of Rossimoda (LVMH)

This thesis explores the integration of sustainability and circular economy principles within the luxury sector's supply chain, addressing evolving ethical and environmental expectations. It analyzes the application of Green Supply Chain Management, the importance of sustainability standards and certifications, and the role of manufacturing "know-how." The work then delves into supply chain traceability, focusing on the leather goods sector and leveraging tools like Carbon Footprinting. Through an analysis of LVMH Group's sustainability policies and their implementation at Rossimoda, the thesis examines supplier management, deforestation risk, and strategies to enhance circularity. The primary contribution is offering practical and theoretical insights into how luxury brands can adopt a holistic approach to sustainability to maintain competitiveness.

Questa tesi esplora l'integrazione di sostenibilità ed economia circolare nella supply chain del settore del lusso, rispondendo alle crescenti aspettative etiche e ambientali. Il lavoro analizza l'applicazione del Green Supply Chain Management, l'importanza di standard e certificazioni di sostenibilità, e il ruolo del "know-how" manifatturiero. Approfondisce poi la tracciabilità nella catena di fornitura, con un focus sul settore della pelletteria e l'uso di strumenti come la Carbon Footprint. Attraverso un'analisi delle politiche di sostenibilità del Gruppo LVMH e la loro implementazione in Rossimoda, la tesi esamina la gestione dei fornitori, il rischio di deforestazione e le strategie per migliorare la circolarità.
