This thesis explores the growing need for companies to transition towards sustainability and examines the key internal and external factors that drive this shift. It investigates how these forces influence and reshape organizational structures, requiring businesses to adapt traditional models in order to align more effectively with sustainable goals and strategies. The research then focuses on how such organizational changes take shape in practice, identifying both the challenges and opportunities involved in the process. To illustrate these dynamics, the final part of the thesis presents the case of Safilo Group, a company in the eyewear industry that has undergone a structured transition toward sustainability. Through this case study, the thesis highlights how sustainability can be integrated into corporate identity, and what organizational adaptations are necessary to support long-term, responsible growth.
