This thesis is an empirical case study carried out inside the Logistics Department in Oniverse, a holding of various brands in the fashion industry, to evaluate the feasibility of acquiring proprietary assets for the movement of containers from the ports where they are discharged to the warehouses, thereby insourcing this step of the transportation flow, which is now handled by third parties. After a literature review of the benefits and drawbacks of insourcing and the theory about logistics costs analysis, the as-is situation is presented. Transportation costs for the last three years have been considered, as they are the main reason for which the insourcing project has been proposed. The hypothesis of a to-be scenario is then presented, by calculating the number of vehicles that should be bought by the Group to be self-sufficient for most of the year, without underutilizing the assets. Lastly, this is followed by an evaluation of the insourcing costs, which will determine the outcome of the decision on whether to insource inbound logistics. An action plan for the implementation of the project is then elaborated.

Abstract
An action plan for the implementation of the project is then elaborated.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
