«Me ad evocar gli eroi chiamin le muse»: il Foscolo omeride tra eredità musaica ed esegesi

The thesis intends to investigate both in a broad perspective, and with precise and targeted critical thrusts, the terms of exegetical reflection and intertextuality that Foscolo unfolds in the wide and varied body of his writings, based on the Homeric texts, with a special regard for the two major poems, but also frequenting writings today recognized as pseudo-Homeric (Hymns and Batracomiomachia), which our author tends to trace back to the authorship of the greek poet, leaving the philological and linguistic questions to the "pedants". We will proceed with an exhaustive reading of the individual passages centered on Homer or on his production, without however any analytical claim that embraces every single passage of the mass of Foscolo's writings, resorting with particular attention both to the Greek texts and to reflections on metrics, linguistics, history and history of the language connected to Greek and classical civilizations.

L'elaborato intende indagare tanto in una prospettiva ad ampio raggio, quanto con affondi critici puntuali e mirati, le modalità di riflessione esegetica e di recupero versale che Foscolo viene dispiegando nell'ampia e variegata compagine dei suoi scritti, intorno ai testi omerici, con un riguardo speciale per i due poemi maggiori, ma frequentando anche scritti oggi riconosciuti come pseudomerici (Inni e Batracomiomachia), che il nostro tende a ricondurre alla paternità del greco, rimettendo le questioni filologiche e linguistiche ai "pedanti". Si procederà con una lettura esaustiva dei singoli loci imperniati su Omero o sulla sua produzione, senza tuttavia alcuna pretesa analitica che abbracci ogni singolo passaggio della mole di scritti foscoliani, ricorrendo con particolare riguardo tanto alla sinopia greca quanto a riflessioni di metrica, linguistica, storia e storia della lingua connesse al greco e alle civiltà classiche.
