Vozes da floresta: uma análise ecocrítica da literatura indígena Brasileira.

This dissertation analyzes the development of ecocriticism in Brazil, focusing on contemporary Indigenous literary productions. Its main objective is to understand how literary criticism can engage with Indigenous epistemologies to rethink the relationships between culture, nature, and territory. The research begins with a historical and conceptual overview of ecocriticism in the Brazilian context, identifying its specificities in relation to Euro-American theories. It then examines works by Indigenous authors that articulate cosmologies, oral traditions, and ancestral memories, revealing alternative ways of inhabiting and narrating the world. Methodologically, the study combines ecocritical references with decolonial perspectives and Indigenous studies, proposing a critical approach that is sensitive to the diversity of knowledge systems and languages. Ultimately, the dissertation argues that Indigenous literature not only enriches the field of ecocriticism but also offers poetic and political paths to confront the multiple ecological crises of the present.

Esta dissertação analisa o desenvolvimento da ecocrítica no Brasil, com foco nas produções literárias indígenas contemporâneas. O objetivo principal é compreender como a crítica literária pode dialogar com epistemologias indígenas para repensar as relações entre cultura, natureza e território. A pesquisa parte de um levantamento histórico e conceitual da ecocrítica em contexto brasileiro, identificando suas especificidades frente às teorias euro-americanas. Em seguida, examina obras de autores e autoras indígenas que articulam cosmologias, oralidades e memórias ancestrais, revelando formas alternativas de habitar e narrar o mundo. Metodologicamente, o estudo combina referências da ecocrítica com perspectivas decoloniais e estudos indígenas, propondo uma abordagem crítica sensível à diversidade de saberes e linguagens. Ao final, a dissertação defende que a literatura indígena não apenas enriquece o campo ecocrítico, mas também propõe caminhos poéticos e políticos para enfrentar as múltiplas crises ecológicas do presente.
