Dimensione estetica nella Ḥikmat al-Išrāq di Šihāb al-Dīn Yaḥyā al-Suhrawardī (m. 1191)

This research will analyse the Ḥikmat al-Išrāq (Philosophy of Light) by the philosopher and mystic Šihāb al-Dīn Yaḥyā al-Suhrawardī (d. 1191). The specificity of this analysis will concern the investigation of the aesthetic terms used by al-Suhrawardī and an overall evaluation of the ideas and influences underlying them. In the Ḥikmat al-Išrāq there is indeed an explicit reference to beauty as a quality of light, which recalls the previous Islamic philosophical tradition.

La presente ricerca sarà dedicata allo studio dell'opera Ḥikmat al-Išrāq (filosofia della luce) del filosofo e mistico Šihāb al-Dīn Yaḥyā al-Suhrawardī (m. 1191). La specificità di questa analisi riguarderà l'indagine dei termini estetici utilizzati da al-Suhrawardī ed una valutazione complessiva delle idee e delle influenze che ad essi soggiacciono. Nella Ḥikmat al-Išrāq è infatti presente un riferimento esplicito alla bellezza come qualità della luce, che si richiama alla tradizione filosofica islamica precedente.
