This thesis aims to develop and apply an observational system based on Transactional Analysis, called the Ego-State Functions Observation System (EFOS), designed to recognize Ego-State Functions within clinical interviews. The theoretical model is based on the classical assumptions of Transactional Analysis formulated by Eric Berne, with particular focus on the functional developments proposed by Stewart and Joines, and by Woollams and Brown. The EFOS tool was created with the goal of identifying, through the analysis of verbal transcripts, the activation of specific Ego-State Functions such as the Critical Parent, Nurturing Parent, Adult, Free Child, Adapted Child, and Rebellious Child. In the context of the analyzed clinical interviews, the psychophysiological parameter of skin conductance was recorded, in order to explore possible relationships between interpersonal dynamics and physiological activation. The application of EFOS to standardized clinical interviews allowed, on one hand, the initiation of the empirical validation process of the instrument itself, and on the other hand, to verify whether certain expressive modes of Ego-State Functions may be associated with variations in synchronization or arousal levels in the participants.

Abstract
The application of EFOS to standardized clinical interviews allowed, on one hand, the initiation of the empirical validation process of the instrument itself, and on the other hand, to verify whether certain expressive modes of Ego-State Functions may be associated with variations in synchronization or arousal levels in the participants.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
