University represents a crucial stage in individual development, often characterized by uncertainty about the future, academic pressures, and psychological vulnerability. Scientific literature has highlighted that young people often experience depression, anxiety, and stress in the university context, compromising their well-being. For this reason, the construct of academic psychological distress has been defined, understood as a state of emotional suffering that a student may experience in response to perceived stressors in the academic environment. Furthermore, in recent years, there has been an increase in suicide among young people, representing a leading cause of death, as reported by the Italian Institute of Health. This research aims to explore the relationship between future anxiety, academic psychological distress, and suicide risk in a sample of 301 Italian university students, using a self-report questionnaire. The objective is to understand whether and how anxious perceptions of the future and distress related to the academic context may represent risk factors for suicidal behavior.

Abstract
The objective is to understand whether and how anxious perceptions of the future and distress related to the academic context may represent risk factors for suicidal behavior.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
