The new technology of spatial transcriptomics, which allows for the profiling of gene expression at the level of single cells while also conserving spatial information of their location, is opening new avenues in biomedical research. In particular, it is finding use in cancer research, as the cellular context and tumor microenvironment are important factors in tumor development and progression. In this work, we analyze a spatial transcriptomics dataset from kidney cancer patients, exploring the new possibilities this technology opens and highlighting some limitations.

Abstract
The new technology of spatial transcriptomics, which allows for the profiling of gene expression at the level of single cells while also conserving spatial information of their location, is opening new avenues in biomedical research. In particular, it is finding use in cancer research, as the cellular context and tumor microenvironment are important factors in tumor development and progression. In this work, we analyze a spatial transcriptomics dataset from kidney cancer patients, exploring the new possibilities this technology opens and highlighting some limitations.File in questo prodotto:
