Reintegration of former child soldiers in Myanmar and Colombia: A comparative study of national solutions influenced by UN Mechanisms.

Thesis analysis the impact of international responses to the reintegration of former child soldiers through a comparative analysis of Myanmar and Colombia. The study focuses on how United Nations (UN) mechanisms, particularly the Monitoring and Reporting Mechanism (MRM) and associated action plans and country task force, influence national legal frameworks and reintegration programs. By comparing two cases with starkly different political contexts, this research seeks to identify the key factors that explain variations in the UN's influence and the sustainability of resulting national solutions.
