This thesis examines whether age and religiosity are associated with differences in selected dimensions of career calling in a German speaking context. Building on an overview of the calling construct and its cultural roots in the German notion of Beruf, the study explores how demographic characteristics may relate to individual experiences of calling. Participants completed a self-report questionnaire, part of the international LPA project. The results show no evidence of age-related variation across the calling dimensions examined. In contrast, religiosity displayed clearer patterns. Christian participants and those identifying with “Other” religions reported higher levels of Transcendence compared to participants with no religion/atheist/agnostic identification. For Destiny Beliefs, only the comparison between Christian and non religious/atheist/agnostic participants reached statistical significance, while all other comparisons were non-significant. Overall, the findings suggest that certain aspects of calling, particularly Transcendence, are sensitive to differences in religious affiliation, whereas age did not show measurable associations within this sample.

Abstract
Overall, the findings suggest that certain aspects of calling, particularly Transcendence, are sensitive to differences in religious affiliation, whereas age did not show measurable associations within this sample.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
