Career calling is often defined as a way of experiencing one’s profession characterized by deep meaning and a strong sense of personal fulfillment. Over the past decades, this topic has attracted a growing body of research aimed at analyzing its implications and characteristics, providing concrete evidence of the increasing interest in factors that can influence job satisfaction and well-being. Studies in this field suggest that the construct is associated with several positive work-related outcomes, such as motivation, work engagement, commitment, and a sense of gratification derived from one’s activities. However, the literature still shows gaps regarding the various types of work which may affect the relationship between calling and its potential positive outcomes. This study aims to explore the contribution of professional calling to the development of workers’ well-being in the Italian context, focusing on the differences between the two most common forms of employment, dependent and autonomous work, and on the role played by financial stability. The study seeks to contribute to the scientific debate on the relevance of career calling and its implications for the promotion of well-being in professional settings.

Abstract
The study seeks to contribute to the scientific debate on the relevance of career calling and its implications for the promotion of well-being in professional settings.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
