The present study aims to analyse the relationships between parenting styles and various psychological constructs, with the goal of understanding how these variables may influence educational approaches adopted by parents toward their children. The parenting styles that were considered in this study - social, didactic, and normative - represent recurring ways in which parents interact and communicate with their children, reflecting an integrated and complex set of goal-directed behaviours, beliefs and educational strategies. These styles encompass both individual and relational components and accompany children through various stages of their development. The psychological constructs examined include perfectionism, empathy, self-efficacy, and psychological well-being, in particular, depression, anxiety, and stress. The research involved administering a battery of self-report questionnaires to a group of Italian parents with at least one child aged between 4 and 18 years. Participants were recruited through snowball sampling, using personal contacts and social media, which facilitated the distribution of the link to the questionnaires. Following a review of the theoretical framework, data collected were analysed using Jasp software, in order to explore and assess potential relationships between the psychological constructs examined and the parenting styles under investigation. Finally, results were discussed in light of existing literature, highlighting study's limitations and proposing possible future development, with the aim of guiding both clinical interventions and preventive strategies.
