Air pollution is a silent and invisible threat to the health of people and ecosystems. After an overview of the current state of the phenomenon, this thesis will analyze it from the perspective of constructivist environmental sociology, and then examine how it is represented in the media. In this work, air pollution is understood as a slow, human-made environmental disaster. It is deeply intertwined with everyday social life and to the capitalist economic system. Because of its characteristics, it is important to study how it is socially constructed and understood. In this sense, the media act as a spotlight that highlights the problem: by framing it within their systems of meaning, they contribute to its social construction. From this perspective, the thesis is part of the TIPS project. Through an analysis of media coverage, emerging frames, and the social actors involved, it explores how Italian newspapers represent air pollution. The research aims to identify the main contrasts that emerge in the attribution of responsibility.

Abstract
The research aims to identify the main contrasts that emerge in the attribution of responsibility.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
