The thesis explores the concept of frame in political communication, reconstructing their theoretical evolution starting from Bateson, Goffman, and Kahneman, who provide the conceptual basis for understanding how individuals organize reality through shared interpretive frame. This perspective is then linked to the theory of conceptual metaphors, showing how frames also operate on a cognitive and linguistic level. The thesis proposes a hypothetical but replicable methodological contribution: an analytical grid aimed at identifying and classifying frames in the discourses and texts of contemporary American political communication, with the aim of promoting a more conscious reading of the discursive strategies aimed at orienting and manipulating public opinion.

Abstract
The thesis explores the concept of frame in political communication, reconstructing their theoretical evolution starting from Bateson, Goffman, and Kahneman, who provide the conceptual basis for understanding how individuals organize reality through shared interpretive frame. This perspective is then linked to the theory of conceptual metaphors, showing how frames also operate on a cognitive and linguistic level. The thesis proposes a hypothetical but replicable methodological contribution: an analytical grid aimed at identifying and classifying frames in the discourses and texts of contemporary American political communication, with the aim of promoting a more conscious reading of the discursive strategies aimed at orienting and manipulating public opinion.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
