This thesis is dedicated to the figure of Leonor Fini, artist "without label" of the twentieth century, whose life and work are inextricably intertwined. The work analyzes the biographical and creative path of the artist, highlighting his independence, visionary sensitivity and constant challenge to traditional codes of art and the role of women. In particular, the focus is on the exhibition "I am Leonor Fini", set up at Palazzo Reale in Milan, which represented a fundamental opportunity to rediscover and re-read his production in a contemporary key. Through the analysis of the exhibited works and curatorial staging, the thesis explores how the exhibition has managed to return the complexity of Fini’s identity: artist, free woman and original interpreter of surrealism, without ever adhering fully. The objective is to show how his figure, still today often marginalized in the official artistic canon, deserves a renewed critical and cultural interest.
